Case Study:
Start-Up Savvy
Wouldn't you agree, that the persona of an employee is very different from entrepreneur?
Both are experts in their respective fields but the public's perception is quite different. An employee is a professional who is part of the "brand or image" of the company they work for; while a consultant is his own brand. It's critical for a consultant to be perceived as a professional who can and will deliver the services they offer. This is where marketing is key to success for a professional moving from employee to entrepreneur.
Recently, Gray Cat Marketing & Design worked with a high-level employee who was leaving his position with a well-known Maine company to start his own business in data security, his field of expertise. After several discussions about marketing strategy and brand image, a logo was designed that was distinctive, eye-catching and visually conveyed the nature of the start-up business. The next step was developing a captivating tag line that summarized benefits of using the services offered.
The logo and tag line were used in the business card design and on the website providing more details about the company. To create a cost savings for this new business, the letterhead, envelopes, proposal form and speaking handouts were all designed as a Microsoft Word templates enabling the owner to print these documents as needed from his office.
Finally, the Assurance Point LLC website with the theme of partnership was created to further explain the services he provides giving his company instant credibility and positioning his business in the online community.
